DMS Students, Parents, and Community Partners:

With the teacher walkout pending beginning next week, all DMS students ineligible for sport or program competition on next Monday morning (April 2nd) will remain ineligible during the entire duration of the walkout.

If the walkout lasts for an extended period, this will have severe consequences for students and their teams, as OSSAA has determined that it will continue to sponsor competition for ALL programs.

We need all parents and students to have and understand this information so that everyone realizes the ramification of being ineligible at the end of this week.

Per the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activity Association (OSSAA) directive (which is independent of state and teacher organizations) all competitive programs (sports, FFA, drama, etc.) will be allowed to practice and compete during a teacher walkout. No additional practice times beyond the normal school day allowance will be conducted.

Thank you for your support during this tumultuous time as the spotlight turns to Oklahoma's educational system. We will continue to keep you informed as the situation evolves.
