Local Resources for Families during Duncan Public Schools Teacher Walkout

There will be no school on Monday, April 2, so teachers may participate in a statewide advocacy day. Decisions about school closures after Monday will be made on a day to day basis. Information concerning the teacher walkout will be available on the following sites: Local media, District and site Facebook and Twitter, duncanps.org, School Way app, and DTV Channel 60. Details will change daily so please keep checking.

MEALS

No meals will be served Monday, April 2. Beginning Tuesday, April 3 and each day of the walkout, breakfast will be served from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. Any child under 18 may eat free at the sites below:

Woodrow Wilson 700 East Chestnut

Emerson 1200 West Hickory

Mark Twain 2204 West Oak

Meals will be served come and go. Supervision will be limited.

DAY CAMPS & EXTENDED SERVICES

Gabriel’s House is accepting applications for extended faith-based activities for ages 5 and up. The cost is $25 per day. Breakfast, lunch, snack, and dinner will be provided. For more information call 252-4782.

The Simmons Center is offering camp days for parents looking for activities for their children. Ages 4 to 12 are welcome to apply. Kids will need to bring a sack lunch, swimsuit, towel, tennis shoes, and socks. The cost is $25 for members and $35 for non-members.
